Jessica is Maurer Law’s Senior Paralegal, handling the more complex matters. Jessica is bilingual (Spanish) and brings to the firm over 10 years of experience in the medical field and 10 years of experience in the legal field. Her legal experience includes civil, corporate and criminal law. Throughout her career, she has gained substantial knowledge working on complex personal injury claims involving catastrophic injuries, traumatic brain injuries as well as fatalities.
Jessica is a dedicated team member who takes pride in producing quality work. She feels that many people underestimate the profound effect that surviving a traumatic accident can have on an individual as it is not only the physical injuries that they need to heal from, but the emotional trauma as well.
Many clients who suffer major injuries endure many months of medical treatment which often includes time spent in a hospital or rehabilitative clinic—time which is spent away from their spouses, children and jobs. This frequently causes an immense emotional and financial hardship for the client and their family, especially if the injured person is the primary financial provider. Jessica is passionate in carrying out Maurer Law’s mission to help make our clients whole again after a serious injury or the death of a loved one.
Jessica graduated magna cum laude from North Carolina State University where she received her B.A. in Spanish Language and Literature. She was a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and Winner of the Outstanding Scholarship, Leadership and Service Award. Jessica also earned a certificate in Business Spanish from La Universidad de Alcalá, Madrid, Spain and is an active North Carolina Notary Public.
Jessica is married and has three children. In her spare time she enjoys reading, watching movies and spending quality time with her husband and children.
